A series of group walks along the A40 motorway, Oxfordshire, UK

These 'silent' walks were undertaken in single file with participants leaving from a designated meeting point at spaced intervals. Unaware of the length of the walk, they were invited to set their own pace and take breaks as required. The end point, at a distance of 6 miles, was a secluded natural setting behind a hedgerow, concealed but adjacent to the roadway, unobserved from a vehicle. This place provided  respite from the noise of traffic and the draining effect of its constant flow. Participants were offered tea and invited to reflect on their experiences.
